Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh berries for decoration
  • Buttercream frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  7. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  8. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
