Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheets.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour until just combined.
  4. Roll out the dough to about a quarter-inch thickness.
  5. Cut into flower shapes with cookie cutters.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Allow to cool completely before frosting or decorating.

Notes

For the best texture, make sure your butter is at room temperature. Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to avoid spreading.
