Ingredients

  • 1 prime rib roast (5-7 pounds)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Rosemary, fresh
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Season the prime rib generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  4. Sear the roast on all sides until well-browned.
  5. Transfer the prime rib to a roasting pan and insert a meat thermometer.
  6. Roast in the oven for about 15-20 minutes per pound, or until the desired doneness is reached.
