Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup milk (or nut milk for dairy-free)
  • Frosting and decorations of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cupcake tins with paper liners.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition.
  4. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then gradually mix into the batter.
  5. Pour in the milk and mix until the batter is smooth.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Cool completely before decorating the tops as butterfly wings with frosting and toppings.
