- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups cream cheese frosting
- Food coloring (for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cupcake liners in a cupcake tin.
- Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and butter until smooth.
- Add eggs and milk, then mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the cupcake liners.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cupcakes completely before frosting.
- Arrange cooled cupcakes into a butterfly shape on a flat surface.
- Frost generously with cream cheese frosting, decorating as desired.
Notes
Allow cupcakes to cool completely before applying frosting to prevent melting. Extra frosting is handy for touch-ups.
