Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Add the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
  3. Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  5. Heat oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the beignets in batches until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
