- 1 prime rib roast (3-4 lbs)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Mix the softened butter and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Rub the garlic butter mixture generously over the prime rib.
- Season with salt and pepper, ensuring it gets into all crevices.
- Place the roast in the hot oven and sear for 20 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and roast until desired doneness, using a meat thermometer.
- Let the prime rib rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
